My responsibilities:
The Data Visualization Developer at ALDI DX designs and maintains Data and Analytics products that enable data-driven decision-making across the company. Collaborating closely with data engineers and business teams, this role focuses on creating intuitive, high-performance visualizations by integrating diverse data sources. Working in an agile, international environment, the developer gathers requirements, validates usability, and continuously enhances dashboards. Strong skills in data modeling, Microsoft Power BI, UI/UX design, and communication are essential, along with a structured, problem-solving mindset.
- Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, including semantic models and dataflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions that support data-driven decision-making.
- Customer Centricity: Lead requirement engineering activities, refine specifications, and collect feedback through usability testing and user research to continuously improve dashboards.
- Data Modeling: Connect and model data from various sources (e.g., Azure SQL, Databricks, APIs) using Power Query and Power BI data modeling techniques to deliver high-quality analytical content.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure optimal report performance by leveraging best practices such as efficient DAX calculations, optimized data models, and appropriate use of aggregations.
- Methodological Improvement: Contribute to best practices in Power BI development, governance, and deployment to improve scalability, maintainability, and user experience.
- International Collaboration: Collaborate across international teams and communicate effectively in English.
The knowledge I own:
Must-have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.
- Experience in business intelligence, including requirements engineering, dashboard development, and analytics projects.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI on Fabric
- Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language).
- Knowledge of Power BI Governance, deployment pipelines, and workspace management.
- Experience with row-level security (RLS) and enterprise data security concepts.
- Excellent SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling).
- Proven ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable visual insights.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
- Hands-on mentality with strong problem-solving skills.
- Analytical and structured approach to work.
- Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
