Junior Full Stack Developer - JavaScript

My responsibilities:

  • Adherence to technical/quality guidelines and standards
  • Implementation and adaption of the product according to specification and design
  • Building, testing and running the product (e.g. developing user stories, testing quality, fixing defects and incidents)
  • Up-to-date documentation of the technical product specification, technical documentation and source code
  • Shippable product increments and stability in live environment
  • Identification and sharing of best practices within product team, chapter and developer community

    Implementation and Configuration

  • Reviews functional and non-functional requirements and designs the product with regards to feasibility for implementation
  • Implements and configures the product according to specification and design, adhering to defined Definition of Done
  • Ensures implementation of quality, flexibility and performance (built-in quality)
  • Translates business needs, user stories or operations tickets into specification and derives actionable tasks for implementation
  • Implements user story according to required functionality and adhering to Definition of Done
  • Checks business requirements and implemented products with regards to consistency

    Technical Documentation and Standards

  • Applies technical/quality guidelines and standards (e.g. architecture, design, programming, testing, operations)
  • Creates, refines and updates the technical product specification and documentation
  • Documents source code and configurations as defined in product team or ALDI standards

    Deployment and Operations

  • Enables the adaptation and deployment of new product versions in non-productive and productive environments
  • Collaborates with product team and operations experts to ensure seamless product operation, availability, adequate performance, continuous monitoring and overarching improvement of operation aspects
  • Manages, monitors and optimizes the live environment of the product incl. functionality, availability and performance
  • Supports productive applications (3rd level) and provides after-hours support, when required
  • Forecasts SLA conformity and deviations
  • Adds developer tests (e.g. unit, integrity, regressions tests)
  • Fixes a defect resulting from an Incident and publishes a hotfix in alignment with relevant parties

    Continuous Learning and Collaboration

  • Follows the Agile methodology
  • Collaborates with Product Owner, product team members, users and other stakeholders to understand and refine product requirements
  • Joins developer chapter events or developer community of practice to share good practices and learn from other experiences
  • Stays updated with latest developments and tech trends (e.g. programming languages, frameworks, tools)
  • Proactively shares and discusses insights with the product team, chapter and internal developer community

The knowledge I own:

  • Approx. 1-3 years of full stack development experience (Must)
  • Experience/Knowledge in programming in JavaScript (Must)
  • Adjust API to REST API experience/knowledge (Should)
  • Script and understand UML (Should)
  • Experience with Platform as a Service concept
  • Knowledge in state-of-the-art integration technologies and architectures
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts, methodologies and tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with capacity to liaise with a variety of stakeholders (business and technical)
  • Technical skills, ingenuity and creativity, proactivity
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with agile way of working and collaboration in product team

    Product specific skills (not mandatory but nice to have):
  • ABBYY Vantage Object Model (nice to have)
  • ABBYY advanced designer training/certification (nice to have)
