Senior Financial Planning Specialist (2 years)

My responsibilities:

• Collect, consolidate, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources to support business and management decision-making.
• Design, build, and maintain automated financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and Power Query.
• Develop and optimize data models, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability of financial reporting processes.
• Transform complex datasets into actionable insights through advanced data analysis, visualization techniques, and KPI monitoring.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities with robust analytical models and reporting tools.
• Create monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial performance reports, identifying trends, risks, and business opportunities.
• Perform variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and historical benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Finance, Controlling, Accounting, IT, and Business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to improve reporting efficiency and data quality.
• Manage and maintain financial datasets within SQL databases and other enterprise data repositories.
• Support data governance initiatives by ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with corporate standards.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement in financial reporting and data management.
• Develop financial and operational KPIs and monitor business performance through interactive dashboards and visual analytics.
• Participate in cross-functional projects involving data analytics, business intelligence, financial modeling, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to management in a clear and meaningful manner.

The knowledge I own:

• Strong experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, controlling, or business intelligence roles.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large and complex financial datasets.
• Expert-level Excel knowledge, including Power Query, advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and data modeling techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar Business Intelligence and visualization platforms.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and the ability to create intuitive dashboards and management reports.
• Experience in designing and maintaining data models for financial and operational reporting.
• Solid SQL knowledge with the ability to query, manipulate, and manage data stored in relational databases.
• Understanding of database concepts, data warehousing structures, and ETL processes.
• Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, Apptio, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and key financial metrics.
• Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and reporting frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and data-driven mindset.
• Experience with automation tools and reporting process optimization.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken (German is an advantage).
• Relevant university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
