As Team Lead / Senior Team Lead IT Security, you take ownership of a local team of IT Security professionals covering Disaster Management and Security Consulting. You share operational and people management responsibilities in a hybrid model together with your counterparts, ensuring that security consulting and IT disaster management run smoothly and consistently across our organization. You act as the local anchor for a team that keeps our business resilient against disruption and secure against evolving threats — while growing the people behind that work.

You work closely with international stakeholders, product and service owners, governance teams, and security peers to make sure that continuity, resilience, and security aren't improvised, but planned, owned, and continuously improved.

My responsibilities:

People & Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a local team of 15–20 IT Security professionals, spanning IT Security Consulting and IT Disaster Management disciplines
  • Share people management responsibilities with your international counterparts in a hybrid leadership setup, ensuring consistent standards, priorities, and ways of working
  • Coach, mentor, and support the professional growth of team members, conducting regular feedback and development conversations
  • Drive recruitment, onboarding, and capability building to keep the team fit for current and future security challenges
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team

Operational & Subject Matter Oversight

  • Oversee IT Security Consulting activities, ensuring the team acts as a trusted advisor across systems, processes, and projects — from stores and warehouses to corporate IT, cloud platforms, and data-driven services
  • Oversee IT Disaster Management and continuity activities, ensuring recovery documentation, disaster recovery exercises, and crisis readiness stay current and effective
  • Ensure alignment between security consulting and disaster management workstreams so continuity and security planning reinforce each other
  • Represent your team in governance forums, communicating compliance status, risks, exercise outcomes, and improvement measures to relevant stakeholders
  • Support your team in complex escalations, risk acceptance decisions, and stakeholder negotiations where senior guidance is needed

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate closely with national and international teams, security peers, and Business Continuity/governance functions across multiple countries
  • Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of security-related and disaster management processes
  • Stay connected to the broader security community, scouting relevant technologies, standards, and practices, and translating them into team priorities

The knowledge I own:

Required Qualifications

  • Solid professional experience in IT Security Consulting and IT Disaster Management ideally in an enterprise, consulting, or auditing environment
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating teams, with a genuine interest in people development and team leadership
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as recovery planning and continuity concepts
  • Knowledge of relevant security and resilience standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, BSI IT-Grundschutz, GDPR, NIS2)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align priorities across local and international teams
  • Fluent spoken and written English; German language skills are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to approximately 25% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing teams of a comparable size (15–20 people) in a matrixed or international organization
  • Experience working in a hybrid leadership model, sharing responsibilities with international counterparts
  • Familiarity with modern IT environments, including cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure

How you work

You lead with structure and empathy, balancing people development with operational delivery. You're comfortable navigating a shared leadership setup, aligning closely with international counterparts while keeping your local team focused, motivated, and growing.
