Senior Professional - Controller
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the budget planning process for IT projects and various business areas, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Utilize international IT controlling systems to ensure effective financial management and monitoring.
- Actively contribute to the preparation and updating of monthly financial and capacity plans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide comprehensive support to senior management, assisting in decision-making processes with financial insights and reports.
- Prepare and develop monthly and ad-hoc cost reports, forecasts, and financial and capacity analysis
- Collaborate with accounting and controlling teams across the Group to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Respond to inquiries and provide detailed financial data to the financial stakeholder as required.
- Process ad-hoc management requests, offering financial insights and actionable recommendations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing to financial modeling, risk management, and process optimization.
- Work closely with international IT management and IT controlling to ensure transparency and effective financial tracking.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, comparing actual costs against planned budgets, and providing clear explanations for deviations.
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of controlling processes, methods, reports, and tools to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Key skills, experience and qualifications:
- Strong background in financial controlling, with particular expertise in large organizational environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential, with the ability to manage complex data sets, perform detailed financial analysis, and build sophisticated models.
- Strong data analytical skills, with a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Experience in data modeling, with the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, and Tableau is an advantage for effective data visualization and report creation.
- Demonstrated ability to produce financial reports, variance analysis, and visualizations to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, forecast future performance, and provide meaningful financial insights.
- IFRS reporting experience is preferred, with an understanding of global financial standards and reporting requirements.
- Confident written and oral communication skills in English (fluency in German is an advantage).
- Organized, self-motivated work style with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A process-oriented mindset, with a focus on optimizing workflows and ensuring consistent, accurate financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; additional expertise in other Microsoft or financial tools is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Relevant academic background in business administration, financial accounting, or similar fields.
- Experience with SAP or Apptio systems for financial management and reporting is advantageous.
