Senior Reporting Specialist

My responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining a reporting framework within an established reporting team
  • Analyzing and fulfilling the business's reporting requirements
  • Continuously improving and refining reporting processes
  • Writing optimized SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
  • Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data

The knowledge I own:

  • Strong English skills
  • Practical experience with M365 tools (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Extensive experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder
  • Proficient in data visualization using SSRS, Tableau, and MS Excel
  • Basic knowledge of analytical methods, including fundamental statistical techniques
  • Familiarity with call center technologies and ticketing systems
  • SQL-related knowledge in details
    • Comfortable with writing, interpreting, and reading MSSQL queries
    • Comfortable with using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
    • Familiar with CRUD operations
    • Ability to create and maintain table structures
    • Deep understanding of database design, including table relationships, normalization, denormalization, indexing
    • Strong understanding of data types and their appropriate use
    • Competent in:
      Basic string manipulation techniques (including but not limited to LEFT, RIGHT, SUBSTRING, CONCAT, LTRIM, RTRIM, TRIM, REPLACE)
      Basic date manipulation functions (e.g., to DATEDIFF, DATEADD, DATEPART, DATEFROMPARTS)
      Basic aggregate functions (SUM, AVG, COUNT, MAX, MIN)
    • Advanced understanding of filtering and sorting clauses (TOP, DISTINCT, WHERE, HAVING, ORDER)
    • Familiarity with advanced subqueries and complex JOIN operations
    • Knowledge of conditional logic (IF, IIF, CASE, COALESCE, ISNULL)
    • Advanced understanding – including optimization – of views
    • Complex troubleshooting of query errors and/or syntax issues
    • Confident usage of Import and Export Wizard
  • Advanced T-SQL knowledge including:
    • Confident in query optimization methods and techniques:
      Understands the concept of local and global temporary tables and can use them confidently
      Understands the concept of Common Table Expressions (CTE)
      Able to analyse and interpret Live/Actual Execution Plans and perform modifications on queries based on them
    • Understands the usage and versioning methods of system-versioned temporal tables
    • Understands trigger operations
    • Cross-tab operations (PIVOT, UNPIVOT)
    •  Advanced SQL programming knowledge:
      Understanding the concept of Stored Procedures (UDF is advantage)
      Could perform operations with iterative structures (WHILE loop, cursors)
      Dynamic SQL queries (EXEC sp_executesql)
    • Experienced with T-SQL window functions (ROW_NUMBER, DENSE_RANK, RANK etc. + OVER)
      Combining aggregations and window functions for advanced data analytics
    • Error handling (TRY-CATCH)
  • Practical experience with ServiceNow, especially in reporting, is an advantage
  • Knowledge of NICE-InContact reporting is a plus
  • Experience with Python is a plus
