How You´ll Make Your Mark
Your main tasks in this role are:
- As a Food Systems Policy Advisor you monitor and analyse EU and global policy developments affecting sustainable food systems, with particular focus on driving positive change within agriculture, food, environment and health topics
- You identify emerging risks and opportunities and recommend proactive responses to deliver
- Your responsibilities include mapping, building and maintaining strong relationships with European institutions, Member States, industry associations, NGOs, think tanks and other strategic partners
- You identify opportunities for ALDI to positively influence policy and proactively join wider debates towards food system transformation
- Preparing high-quality briefings, position papers, presentations and strategic advice for senior leadership falls under your area of responsibility
- You represent ALDI in meetings, conferences and external events
- In this role you will contribute to building ALDI’s reputation as a constructive and credible partner in the transition towards sustainable food systems
Your Profile
The requirements of the role include:
- You have at least 5 years of experience working on and shaping EU and/or global policy or public affairs, ideally in Brussels, with an established network across relevant EU institutions and stakeholder organisations
- You have a strong knowledge of EU policymaking and institutions with expertise in one or more fields of agriculture, food systems, environment and climate, health and nutrition, sustainability
- You are able to communicate complex policy clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy working with like-minded colleagues, and value collaboration with international stakeholders
- You are a proactive initiator, approaching complex challenges with creativity and a strong interest in creating the enabling environment for truly sustainable food systems
- You are business fluent in English
