How You’ll Make Your Mark

In this position, you’ll…

Develop and lead the global inbound logistics vision and long-term strategy for ALDI Süd Group, aligning with overall business objectives and future growth plans
Inspire and cultivate a top-tier logistics team, fostering a collaborative culture while actively engaging with key international and national stakeholders across all organisation levels
Transform the global inbound logistics network architecture, including strategic decisions on hub locations, transport modes, and market entry logistics frameworks, whilst balancing cost, quality and sustainability
Create and implement a global 3PL partnership strategy, including partner selection criteria, governance models, and performance management frameworks in conjunction with our International procurement department
Proactively identify potential challenges within logistics and formulate robust mitigation strategies that ensure supply chain continuity
Establish strategic KPIs and success metrics for global logistics operations, ensuring alignment with business goals and sustainability targets
Build a centre of excellence for logistics innovation, focusing on emerging technologies and future logistics models

The requirements for the role are…

Extensive experience in logistics operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a Strategic Logistics leadership role, particularly in international transport and warehouse management of Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PL)
Strong background in logistics strategy development, transformation projects and implementation across multiple international markets and complex organisations
Proven expertise in the European logistics market; knowledge of the US market is a significant plus
Strong track record in stakeholder management at senior levels within international organisations
A strategic mindset with the ability to navigate and adapt to new challenges
Strong commitment to sustainability with experience in implementing eco-friendly logistics practices
Expertise in perishable food, cold chain and grocery multi-channel supply chains is highly beneficial
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proactive and outgoing working style
A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field; a master’s degree is strongly preferred
Fluent Business English skills
Proficient in MS Office, with SAP knowledge being an advantage

Gross annual salary starting from € 190.900*
*willingness to overpay with appropriate qualification
