How You´ll Make Your Mark
Your main tasks in this role are:
- You will serve as an expert in carbon mitigation accounting and climate strategy, developing internal technical guidance on topics such as GHG removals, farm project MRV, co-product allocation, product carbon footprints, GHG impact factors or custom emission factors, as well as traceability and verification
- In this role, you will guide ALDI teams in applying technical guidance across value chain sustainability programs and advise on GHG mitigation strategies for agricultural decarbonization projects, with a focus on dairy, beef, coffee, cocoa, and produce supply chains
- You will continuously monitor external developments in standards, frameworks, and guidelines (e.g., GHG Protocol, AIM Standards, SBTi, and TCAT) related to GHG measurement and market-based mitigation, integrating relevant updates into ALDI’s climate strategy
- You will lead the development of ALDI’s multi-ledger GHG impact accounting and reporting approach in alignment with the TCAT framework
- Working closely with climate data and technology teams, you will ensure robust plans for annual impact measurement and support the ongoing development and enhancement of GHG data tools
- You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, providing technical expertise and advisory support on climate and agricultural topics
Your Profile
The requirements of the role include:
- You bring demonstrated experience in delivering or contributing to corporate GHG mitigation and regenerative agriculture programs, along with a strong understanding of global agricultural supply chains
- You possess a solid understanding of carbon accounting standards and frameworks such as SBTi, GHG Protocol, TCAT, AIM, and VCMI
- You are able to communicate complex scientific concepts and environmental sustainability topics clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences across different disciplines
- You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy working with like-minded colleagues, and value collaboration with international stakeholders
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, you approach complex challenges with creativity and a strong interest in advancing innovative climate data solutions
- You are business fluent in English
