Specialist - Sustainable Food Packaging (f/m/d)

How You’ll Make Your Mark

Your main tasks in this role are:

  • As an expert on food packaging, you will support the implementation of the international packaging goals of the ALDI SÜD Group in the areas of recyclability, recycled content and reduction of the proportion of virgin plastic
  • Communicating and cooperating with packaging suppliers along the packaging value chain are part of your tasks
  • You will work closely with the purchasing departments and product suppliers to support the introduction of sustainable food packaging
  • You are interested in dairy products, chilled convenience products, fresh meat, bakery products, coffee, spreads or cereals
  • You will be responsible for providing technical knowledge and identifying possible solutions in the field of recyclable packaging for food products
  • As an expert in the field of food packaging, you will support the harmonisation and optimisation of product packaging, taking into account legal developments and sustainability obligations, with a focus on food packaging
  • Coordinating and working independently with cross-functional teams on basic tasks is part of your responsibilities
  • You are interested in interpreting and analysing data and specifications in the field of packaging
  • Preparing presentations is one of your tasks

Your Profile

The requirements oft he role include: 

  • As an expert in food packaging, you have a degree in packaging engineering, food technology, or materials science with a focus on various food packaging solutions
  • You have 2-5 years of professional experience and expertise in the field of food packaging (dairy products,  bakery products, coffee, spreads, bars ). 
  • Ideally, you have knowledge of primary packaging materials for food, packaging sustainability and packaging related EU regulations
  • You bring with you technical expertise across packaging engineering disciplines
  • You are resourceful and have great communication skills, experienced in stakeholder management  and problem-solving skills

Remuneration

Gross annual salary starting from € 52.700*
*willingness to overpay with appropriate qualification
