How you’ll make your mark

Your main tasks in this role are:

  • You will serve as the global purchasing lead for indirect products and services while building and developing the teams necessary for best-in-class strategic sourcing
  • You will direct and sponsor global procurement initiatives in close collaboration with business unit leaders and country teams, targeting sustainable cost reductions and improvements in quality, supplier competitiveness, and service levels
  • You will define, implement, and monitor procurement strategies and standards for globally managed categories, engaging National Procurement Directors and cross-functional stakeholders for alignment and execution
  • You will conduct regular risk assessments, designing and implementing strategies to mitigate supply and price risks within your portfolio
  • You will manage commodity spend and projects in line with long-term planning and organizational targets to contribute meaningfully to the company’s bottom and top line results
  • You will build and maintain a sustainable global supplier portfolio, establishing strategic partnerships and ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulations
  • You will lead global procurement processes, including planning, supplier scouting, selection, contracting, onboarding, and ongoing supplier lifecycle management
  • You will drive continuous improvement initiatives that simplify and optimize procurement processes for GNFR products and services internationally
  • You will standardize reporting frameworks and governance processes to ensure consistent, data-driven decision-making across regions
  • You will understand the strategic roadmaps for direct purchasing categories and align indirect spend sourcing solutions accordingly
  • You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders including supply chain, marketing, legal, compliance, and executive leadership
  • You will communicate effectively at all organisational levels, from operational teams to Executive Board members, ensuring transparency and clarity on project status and strategic goals
  • You will lead, develop, and inspire your team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous growth

  • You have proven leadership skills with extensive experience leading diverse teams
  • You have strong internal stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills
  • You are reliable, structured, and independent in your work approach with a conscientious mindset
  • You have excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • You have a deep understanding of ALDI’s business model and supply chain dynamics
  • You have the willingness to travel internationally up to 50%
  • You are open to relocating to ALDI SOUTH Holding in Vienna
  • You are fluent in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
